Barrel of Monkeys

Barrel of Monkeys teaches creative writing workshops in the Chicago public school system, then they adapt stories written by kids for their long-running hit, That's Weird, Grandma.  Time Out Chicago says, "This group is funnier than anything at Second City, more genuinely creative than anything at Lookingglass, and does more good than all the other nonprofit theaters in town put together."  Kids write it.  The Monkeys perform it.  World saved.

The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival

The world's largest festival dedicated exclusively to the art of sketch comedy and a Chicago institution.  Promoting SketchFest involves months of work that culminate in two insane weeks of performance and press coordination.  It's a beautiful monster and I was proud to be a part of it.

The Cupid Players

Chicago’s premiere musical sketch comedy group, performing the longest running revue in the history of the legendary iO Theater. The Chicago Reader has named them the "Best Sketch Comedy Group in Chicago," and Time Out Chicago hails them a "Must See!"

GayCo Productions

Chicago’s GLBT-themed sketch comedy theater company specializing in hilarious, intelligent comedy where gay is the given, not the punch line. The 2009 debut of The Audacity of Nope or How I Fell for a Pansy Scheme was called “extremely entertaining…brilliantly subversive…[with] impressive wit, contagious camp and explosive humor” (Chicago Stage Review).

Comprised of a nationally-produced playwright, a published humor author, and a high school English teacher, Hey You Millionaires has been called “Hugely talented…brainy and twisted” by the Chicago Tribune, was voted "Best Sketch Group in Chicago" in the Chicago Reader for two consecutive years.

Hopelessly Devoted

Chicago Improvisers and actual Catholics Vinnie Lacey and Natalie Sullivan offer up scenes, songs and secret confessions in this show bursting with the love of Christ!

Kathleen Puls Andrade's hilarious and moving one-woman show.  Deftly applying humor to a serious subject, Kathleen takes the audience through her experiences dealing with infertility. Inspiring, educational, and very funny.

 

Laugh Out Loud Theater

New ownership, a remodeling, and new crack team of Chicago improvisers brought Laugh Out Loud to life at its Grand Opening in 2008.  Now it is THE place for hilarious improv comedy in Chicago's Northwest suburbs, and easily the best theater located under a bridal store in the world.

 

Matter Dance Company

Voted "Best Dance Company in Chicago" for two consecutive years in the Chicago Reader Best of Chicago awards, MDC performs accessible and surprising dance that appeals to the dance novice as well as the veteran. Their third full-length concert Revolving Doors was host to the newest works from the most up-and-coming choreographers and dancers in Chicago.

 

Matt Young: Impotent

Improviser Matt Young opens up about his personal struggle with Erectile Dysfunction in Matt Young: Impotent.  A daring, honest sketch comedy revue exploring the figurative and literal implications of being ineffectual, unproductive, and inadequate. 

 

 

Mere Fluff

Robyn Scott & Bill Larkin's sketch comedy programme, featuring satire, impersonations, mime, performance art, puppetry and original musical numbers.   The Chicago Tribune says, "Somewhere, George Burns & Gracie Allen are in stitches."  Centerstage Chicago says, Mere Fluff will "leave you doubled over, laughing and, eventually crying."

Chicago’s own modern burlesque superstar, Michelle L’amour is a legendary performer, producer, and instructor at her own Studio L’amour.

Off Off Broadzway

A cast member since pH was founded in 2002, I also eventually took the position of Marketing Director and enthusiastically went to work.  It was at pH that I cut my teeth in marketing & PR, and learned much about media relations, working with a shoestring budget, and employing guerrilla marketing tactics.
